"I've been a BHS qualified instructor since 2003 and currently hold the BHS Stage 4 Senior Coach
(formerly BHSII) and UKCC3 coaching qualifications.
Recently I have been accepted onto the BEF & Sport England funded
"National Development Programme for Coaching Excellence" for 2019-2020
I am a BHS Accredited Professional Coach, Pony Club accredited, and hold current certifications in First Aid & Safeguarding. I am also one of only a dozen Retraining of Racehorses approved coaches in the Midlands, enabling registered horses to receive subsidised training from the charity.
I'm a regular competitor in all affiliated disciplines on my own and a number of clients horses
but particularly focusing on eventing with my own team of retrained racehorses.
There are no quick fixes or shortcuts in my sessions but building confidence, knowledge and ability from the foundations upwards through correct training using kindness and consistency in all that we do with our horses.
I have a wide range of regular clients, from leisure/pleasure riders to affiliated competitors; whether your goal is to ride in your first competition at club level or you are an established competitor looking to improve performance or guidance on moving up a level, I look forward to helping you plan a route to achieve your goals and ambitions.
I hold regular group training clinics at Ivanhoe; please see the "Clinics & Events" page for all my upcoming dates, and to book a place on a group clinic online.
I also teach private clients 7 days a week at Ivanhoe for £30/45 minutes; to book a private lesson please send me a text message (07432 623931), email or Facebook Page message.
For all clinics and private coaching, no refund will be given for less than 24 hours notice.
In case of exceptionally inclement weather (flooding, thunder, snow etc!)
the cancellation policy is generally waived
"I first contacted Emma on the recommendation of a friend as someone who would be able to help me primarily with jumping confidence. I started, less than a year ago, as someone who was scared of a cross pole but desperately wanted to get back out eventing. With her calm and clear demeanour, she builds confidence without even realising it. She has helped us no end with both flat and jump work and I cannot thank her enough! So much so, I have roped more or less all of my friends to have lessons with her, and they are all still clients so that can't be bad. Just fab! Thank you xx"
"The combination of a horrible rider injury and a massively quirky horse means that my already fragile confidence has been shattered. Emma is patiently piecing this back together and helping us by thinking outside the box with kind but challenging instruction."
"I have been having lessons with Emma, once a month for four months now. Emma really 'gets' my quirky mare and always has a different perspective of how to cope with the issues I have. She is not afraid to think outside the box and I really like the way she treats the horses as individuals and works on them differently to get to the same goal. I would highly recommend Emma to anyone, her style of teaching and coaching is second to none x"
"Calm, empathetic, and highly experienced instructor. I find Emma really approachable and positive regarding my goals. Her approach is holistic, enjoyable, and the improvement in myself and my horse speaks for itself!"
